About Ivan Vukojevic

Experienced professional with extensive expertise in development diplomacy and program management, particularly with USAID and UNDP. Since 2004, served as Deputy Director in the Program Strategy and Coordination Office at USAID/Serbia, overseeing strategy formulation, program development, and management of significant budgets (over $900 million for Serbia and $240 million for Montenegro). Work includes leading the development of strategic plans, project design and implementation, managing monitoring and evaluation processes, and engaging with key stakeholders, such as the Serbian government, civil society, private sector and other international donors. Also ensured the alignment of programs with U.S. foreign policy goals and regulations. The individual played a critical role in USAID's communication efforts, promoting development impacts and policy objectives through outreach, media, and public events. Additionally, responsible for managing several major assistance agreements between the U.S. Government and the Government of Serbia, overseeing performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with environmental and social safeguards. Held temporary duty assignments in Afghanistan, Montenegro, Washington, and Germany, further broadening expertise. Prior to joining USAID, worked as a Project Manager for the UNDP/Capacity Building Fund, supporting Serbia’s privatization process. Education includes a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Belgrade, various certifications in diplomacy, and advanced coursework in diplomatic studies. Fluent in Serbian, English, and intermediate in French, with a strong background in project management, strategic planning, and cross-cultural communication.
