About Ivan Zhdanov

With over a decade of hands-on experience in gas turbine engineering, I’ve led major initiatives across multiple GE and Alstom product lines—most notably GT24/26, GT13E2, and 6F.03 frames. My background spans the full lifecycle of NPI and OTR projects, with a specialized focus on hydrogen and low-BTU fuel solutions to meet evolving global energy needs. I’ve pioneered site-specific optimizations on GT24/26 frames—delivering over USD in cost savings per unit—and commissioned more than 2 GW of GT26 power plants worldwide. In parallel, I’ve unified legacy Alstom and GE in-house thermal modeling tools, aligning compressor maps, turbine maps, secondary airflow models, and overall system consistency. These data-driven approaches have reinforced operational excellence across large-scale fleets, all while managing cross-functional teams under demanding schedules and strict budget targets. Before GE Vernova, I guided large-scale technical projects at the UN Environment Programme—ranging from developing hybrid mini-grids in Haiti to orchestrating a USD 2 billion gas turbine maintenance plan for Libya in collaboration with the World Bank and USAID. I also managed renewable and fossil-fuel tenders, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and delivering reliable energy solutions to remote communities. Beyond my power generation expertise, I’ve also led full-stack software development and data analytics initiatives—building in-house estimation and forecasting models, IoT integrations, and custom web interfaces (e.g, Python, Node.js, React, SQL, SCADA). This digital skillset has enabled advanced performance monitoring and automated reporting for thousands of global users, transforming real-time data into actionable insights. On the Quality Management front, I independently drove best practices—such as HDPE PDM standards and internal audits—to safeguard compliance and product integrity. My global experience, spanning both developed and emerging markets, has instilled a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and a strong commitment to safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
