About Ivette Rodriguez

Prof. Ivette Rodríguez holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (UPC, 2006). She is Associate Professor at the Heat Engines Department and head of the research group Turbulence and aerodynamics in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC) since 2016. She has participated in 17 national and EU financially supported projects on mathematical modelling and optimisation in aerodynamics and thermal systems and equipment (turbulence modeling, HVAC systems, CSP and building efficiency, etc), more than 30 High Performance Computing (HPC) research projects on aerodynamics and 4 projects with industrial partners, two of them as co-ordinator. Her research interests are focused on computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer applied to transitional and turbulent flows, as well as the numerical simulation of aerodynamics and thermal systems with special focus on solar thermal and energy storage systems. She has been the director of several PhD thesis and is author of 53 papers in JCR journals, more than 80 contributions to peer-reviewed international conferences and 5 patents. Since 2004, she has been involved in the different teaching activities such as: Advanced Aerodynamics, Numerical methods, Heat and Mass Transfer, Solar Thermal Energy, Thermal and Thermochemical Energy Storage courses in several graduate and undergraduate programs at UPC.
