I'm an in-house paralegal that focuses on corporate real estate and commercial lease administration, though I frequently lend a hand with other legal activities that spring up during growth periods such as acquisitions, franchising, and construction. One of my particular strengths is implementing, optimizing, and administering lease administration software systems like Tango, Lucernex, Visual Lease, MRI, and LeaseQuery. I've helped multiple companies move their lease management off of Excel spreadsheets and into a database system that puts their critical information at everyone's fingertips and facilitates accurate accounting. The drafting, review, and summary of legal documents is another one of my specialties. For instance, I have abstracted thousands of leases over my career. And I once reviewed, negotiated, and executed a hundred leases within a single year. A prior career as a newspaper copyeditor sharpened my precision with language and management of deadlines in ways that allow me to excel at this type of work. 🤝 My role typically exists within a company's Legal Department or Real Estate Department and requires me to work closely with colleagues in Facilities, Accounting, Construction, Operations, and Risk Management, giving me a broad spectrum of knowledge across multiple disciplines. I've developed a comprehensive understanding of commercial leasing by working for both landlords and tenants, for both franchisors and franchisees, and on both the pre-execution and post-execution sides of leasing. I use the insights gained from this 360-degree perspective to proactively reduce friction. I make projects and deals go faster by sidestepping pitfalls and heading off problems before they start.
