About Izzie Fuqua Call

A true educator with experiences as a classroom and museum educator for people of all ages. I have taught virtually to students in front of a green screen, led groups in the gallery and have taken the institution's mission off-site to share with people all that a museum can offer them. After completing my art education teaching licensure at JMU (2009) and teaching in the classroom as a long-term substitute I worked towards my MA in Art History at VCU (2012) all while gaining internship experience in various museums around Richmond, VA. I have a strong background in event planning and project management for museums having coordinated everything from lecture classes and drop-in gallery events to multi-day, complex symposia. Executing these events and helping to coordinate interpretative projects for museums has highlighted that I am always ready to share with audiences all that I can about the objects that are in the museum and the stories they tell. These conversations lead to new ways of seeing the world and highlight that art is for everyone.
