About Izzul Islam

I am a young full-time lecturer and researcher in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Universitas Hasanuddin, Indonesia. I am strongly motivated to pursue a Ph.D. and to engage in meaningful international collaboration in extractive metallurgy—particularly pyrometallurgy, plasma metallurgy, sustainable and green metallurgical processing, and secondary-resource recycling. I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Metallurgical Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), where I was deeply involved in scientific, artistic, and organizational activities that significantly enhanced my leadership, teamwork, and communication competencies. My early engagement in research—especially in high-temperature mineral processing and coal-based material utilization—cultivated my long-term commitment to advancing innovative and environmentally responsible metallurgical technologies. As a young faculty member, I actively participate in international conferences, both overseas and in Indonesia, serving as a presenter, moderator, and member of the organizing committee. These roles have broadened my academic horizons, strengthened my global professional network, and refined my ability to articulate complex metallurgical concepts to diverse scientific audiences. I am a fast learner, highly adaptable, and frequently entrusted with leadership responsibilities in multidisciplinary research and academic initiatives. At the same time, I remain a dependable team player committed to professional integrity, effective time management, and the delivery of high-quality scientific outputs.
