About Izzy Jackson-Rhodes

Hello, I'm Izzy Jackson-Rhodes, a passionate advocate for the evolving landscape of American deathcare. As a licensed funeral director and someone dedicated to continuous growth in the field, I aim to contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate approach to death, dying, and aftercare. I have cultivated expertise across various facets of deathcare: in addition to my work as a funeral director, I am a CANA-certified crematory attendant (both flame and water), a licensed life insurance producer, a certified Celebrant, and a trained end-of-life doula through INELDA. I also proudly serve as the Vice President of the National Home Funeral Alliance. In my work, I focus on building an ever-expanding understanding of cultural nuances and the diverse needs of those navigating the end-of-life journey. Central to my mission is advocating for marginalized groups—both those I belong to and those I stand in solidarity with—as I push for a broader and more inclusive definition of deathcare. Beyond my work in the field, I am also passionate about public speaking. I host death education events, lead public death talks, and guest speak at universities, where I share knowledge and foster open conversations about death, grief, and caregiving.
