About Izzy Taylor

I graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, knowing that my future would be in public health. While I have enjoyed my years of patient care as an LNA in various roles, my real passion lies in creating programs and systems that benefit larger populations, especially those with inherent disadvantages. I began my nursing career as an RN Case Manager with UVM Home Health & Hospice, providing nursing assessment and care to medically complex homebound individuals. While there, I honed patient care nursing skills and expanded my perspective of the needs of my community. However, I found myself missing my public health roots and the ability to make systematic changes that would help the individuals in my care from ever reaching such progressed levels of chronic illness.In March of 2021, I made a switch to a position as a school nurse at the Milton Middle School, which embraces my love for pediatric nursing with my excitement about public health. Here, I provide care directly to students with chronic and acute conditions and am able to promote student health through topic-focused health campaigns that we partner with local organizations to accomplish.
