About Jaap Roording

My personal mission is to contribute to a respectful living together of people. I do this in my work by, in a leading or strategic advisory role, helping organizations in the field of the national and international legal order to achieve their goals. I have many years of experience in the field of justice and law enforcement, both in the national and in the international context. I have special memories of my work around the establishment of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, and after the downing of Flight MH17. Since 2017, I have been the Chief Legal Officer of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). In this capacity, I manage the legal division (180 employees). I'm a runner. I recently ran my 19th marathon. Mijn persoonlijke missie is een bijdrage te leveren aan een respectvol samenleven en samenwerken van mensen. Dit doe ik in mijn werk door, in een leidende of strategisch-adviserende rol, organisaties op het terrein van de nationale en internationale rechtsorde te helpen hun doelen te verwezenlijken. Ik heb vele jaren ervaring op het terrein van justitie en rechtshandhaving, zowel in nationaal als in internationaal verband. Bijzondere herinneringen heb ik aan mijn werk rond de vestiging van het International Criminal Court in Den Haag, en na het neerhalen van Vlucht MH17. Sinds 2017 ben ik de Chief Legal Officer van de Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (NVWA). In die hoedanigheid geef ik leiding aan de juridische divisie (180 medewerkers). Ik ben een hardloper.
