About Jace Porter

I recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. I majored in Sociology with a concentration in Organizations and a double minor in Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Environments. This plethora of education has given me various skills and capabilities. Now, entering the professional world, I feel passionate about pursuing a career in sales, marketing, and business development. My past work experience and education have created my proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and ability to build lasting client relationships. Last summer I worked for Cal Poly’s Initiative for Climate Leadership and Resilience where I cold-called and recruited sustainability leaders from across the United States to speak at our “Climate Solutions Now” conference. Second, I interned for a San Luis Obispo nonprofit focusing on their “Farm to School” program that connects marginalized school districts with local producers and educational tools on nutrition. Lastly, my leadership and communication skills blossomed during my time serving as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair for Cal Poly’s Official Campus Ambassadors. On top of my work experience, Cal Poly prides itself on having a “Learn By Doing” approach, and as an Entrepreneurship minor, I have gained a plethora of experience working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. I am confident my detail-oriented approach and coachability in the workspace would contribute to any organization's needs.
