About Jacek Yates

I am currently the lead iOS mobile developer for Lion Energy. In this role, I have been the lead developer on half a dozen new features within the app. I have been a leading part of migrating the app from Obj-C and UIKit into SwiftUI. This process has helped me learn more about proper syntax use, design flows, test-driven code bases, and much more! I am also a former student at Mountainland Technical College and studied iOS Mobile Development. I was part of a few different projects while at school. One of them being a road trip question generating game. In this game, we wanted to give consumers the ability to open the app and have access to an array of questions that would give them different kinds of conversation starters. The other project was my own personal capstone. This app was really fun to develop! I got to learn about utilizing MapKit and saving data into a FireBase server. This app focused on allowing people to guess where they were going for a religious mission. The user could create a profile, share it with others, and then see where those people "dropped" a pin as their guess. I was awarded the "MTECH 2022 Presidential Scholarship" in April of 2022 for my outstanding performance and hard work in class.
