About Jack Bohannon

As of 2013, within a formal employment context, I have about six years of customer service experience and four years cash handling experience. I have worked hard to develop proficiency in foreign languages. I have studied Japanese since and am studying at what native speakers would consider an upper-intermediate level. I plan on taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) level N3 in December 2011 and move up a level each year to completing the N1 level in December 2013. People who are certified at the N3 level know enough Japanese to deliver customer service in Japanese, express opinions, write compositions and letters, and read most basic documents without consulting a dictionary. People who pass the N1 exam are considered fluent in the language beyond secondary school and could perform satisfactorily in a native Japanese university class. I can currently understand approximately 600 Chinese characters from Japanese and can even infer basic meanings from written Chinese. In 2010, I took a year of French and gained a basic understanding of the language. I am able to read French materials with basic comprehension, and can infer meanings from written Spanish based on French. I have a passion for science and technology, and have recently decided to seek involvement in software development. I have an amazing attention to complex details in systems, and years of customer service and technical support has effectively challenged me to communicate technical ideas to laypeople well. Most people I work with enjoy my enthusiasm and ability to work with almost anyone.The industries I am most interested in and have substantially read about and follow current events with include computer hardware and software, consumer electronics, nanotechnology, tourism and hospitality, automotive, music production, publishing, and real estate.
