Background
About Jack Bradley
I am presently a full time national security policy master's student at the RAND School of Public Policy. I will be finished with all but 2 classes in June. I have experience supporting researchers at the U.S. Department of State and Brookings Institution. Excellent knowledge of defense systems, great powers competition, and foreign policy theory. Unique capacities for synthesis, novel queries, hyper-focus, and scenario building. Engaging presenter to diverse audiences, including senior staff, legislators, educators, and students. Advocate for rigorous education of students with disabilities. My background in conducting quantitative and qualitative historical research provides me with a strong foundation for supporting foreign policy scholars. I have successfully worked for Dr. Michael O’Hanlon, Brookings Institution Foreign Policy Research Director. As a result of my contributions and our discussions of U.S. military history, Dr. O’Hanlon allowed me to continue my internship with him personally so I could further research how hindsight bias can lead to myopic decision-making in foreign policy. I have experience researching U.S.(open source and classified) and foreign databases for U.S. foreign policy and diplomatic responses to the Ukraine war; I've used open-source intelligence to analyze U.S. withdrawal from ABM Treaty and create a detailed timeline. I have extensive (self-initiated and formal) studies of international relations with a particular focus on modern military history, WWII, and the Cold War. I have researched alternative outcomes to U.S. wars, identifying history-based scenarios that could be to developed into simulations. I am knowledgeable about defense policy and capacity and have a strong base of understanding of contemporary and historic international relations theory. I am also a passionate advocate for students with disabilities as I am one. I bring to my colleagues a neurodiverse perspective, including unique capacities for nonlinear thinking and pattern recognition that I am told can expand viewpoints and stimulate new dialogues. I am a nationally known disability rights advocate, serving on a national advisory board and presenting to a wide range of audiences, including educators, legislators, and administrators.
