About Jack Byrne

I am currently employed as a Fleet Maintenance Manager for Hills Tankers Mackay fleet. I am responsible for-Scheduling maintenance periods and repairs as well as coordinate response for emergency breakdowns-Maintaining NHVAS and fuel industry compliance on all heavy vehicles and trailers-Liaising with OEM’s and service providers to effectively maintain and repair equipment to reduce impact on operations and down time-Implement procedures for improving safety and reliability on Mackay fleet-Effectively manage coatings and incoicing for maintenance department. Prior to this I have completed a CERT in Heavy Automotive Commercial Vehicle Technology as well as a CERT IV in Project Management Practice. I have also served in the Royal Australian Navy as an Advanced Medical Sailor from 2013 to 2019 in numerous roles at sea, ashore and within Australia as well as internationally. I served briefly on Operation Sovereign borders. During my role as a Medic I worked extensively on secondment with NSW Ambulance service. In my spare time-I am the Vice-President of the Farleigh and Northern Beaches RSL Sub Branch -I volunteer as an instructor for the Australian Army Cadets-I undertake strapping, first aid and training for the North Mackay Saints AFL club.
