About Jack Castley

I am a highly driven, disciplined, and charismatic professional, currently performing the role of an Energy Modeller at Value Optimised Retrofit. With 2-years experience working in the built environment, I have been exposed to a plethora of projects in both the domestic and commercial sectors, carrying out SAP assessments (OCDEA), Air Pressure Tests, Thermal Bridging Calculations, Hygrothermal Calculations, Energy Retrofit Plans (ERPs) and Heat Decarbonisation Plans (HDPs) to name but a few. In my time in academia preceding my professional career, I successfully completed an undergraduate degree, studying a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering with a 12-month Industrial Placement, achieving an overall classification of First Class with Honours (Final Grade = 77%). Additionally, I have completed a postgraduate degree, studying Renewable and Sustainable Energy Technologies (MSc), achieving an overall classification of Distinction / First Class with Honours (Final grade = 83%). During my studies, I also collaborated with senior lecturers at Northumbria University to publish my undergraduate dissertation in the Applied Thermal Engineering scientific journal and have more recently submitted my postgraduate dissertation for auditing with the hopes to also have this published.Regarding my soft skills, I would say I am an outgoing and sociable individual, who is keen to get involved with new activities and opportunities and push myself outside of my comfort zone. Such skills enabled me the privilege of being appointed Captain of the men’s lacrosse team during my time at university, and in my professional role, these skills are what help me to thrive in a client facing, technical role within an ever-evolving industry.Please see my CV linked on my profile for more information.Thank you.
