About Jack Dougall
Employed as a GIS Engineer by Vekta Group. Currently my primary roll is producing maps of future wind farm sites for our renewable energy consultancy team as well as helping in software development for our own GIS tool. I am a University of Stirling graduate, having studied BSC Hons Environmental Geography and received a second class grade. I wrote my dissertation on “Evaluating the Impacts of Onshore Wind Farms on Red Kite (Milvus Milvus) Distribution in Scotland” to which I received a grade of 75%. I did this through exploratory research as well as using sighting datasets within GIS tools to compare and contrast annual sighting numbers within regions surrounding wind farms. I have a passion for the environment and sustainability which is why I chose the environmental geography course at Stirling. It has a heavy focus on environmental geography, with multiple modules on energy production and their impacts to the environment.
