About Jack Gallagher

I achieved my undergraduate degree in Asia-Pacific Studies and Japanese Language at the University of Central Lancashire and have also studied for a postgraduate degree in International Politics at Aberystwyth University. I have a passion for the study of LGBTQ+ rights and have written both my dissertations on different aspects of the LGBTQ community. My first dissertation was on the stereotypical representation of homosexual men in Japanese media, while my postgraduate dissertation was researching the human implications of the 2014 Ugandan Anti-Homosexuality Act, quite a stark difference which highlights my research abilities. Alongside my studies at Central Lancashire and Aberystwyth, I had the opportunity to study at a Japanese University, Seinan Gakuin, as part of my undergraduate degree for 1 year. Due to my academic achievements the 2 years prior to my studies at Seinan Gakuin, I was awarded the JASSO scholarship from the Japanese Government which helped me sustain my studies in Japan where I intensively studied the Japanese language to a high level.
