About Jack Gruber

I am an investment professional with thirty-five years of experience. I specialize in helping people selling large assets such as a business or commercial real estate. At the time of sale, they potentially face large capital gains tax issues. I work with an IRS program that allows the person to control the assets and defer the tax for thirty years. My work has included leading teams in the development of new bank relationships. I have also taught portfolio construction and asset allocation to over a thousand financial professionals. The goal has always been to help investment professionals become better stewards of their clients’ financial well being. I developed investment and training programs in portfolio construction for the National Bank of Saudi Arabia, and Bank Franke, of Switzerland. Additionally, I helped created the first retirement and investment education program for the pilots and engineering teams at United Parcel Services (UPS) in Louisville, KY. Prior to entering the world of investing, I was City Manager of Oak Park, IL. This entailed responsibility for all city departments, 300 hundred employees, and a forty million dollar operating budget. As part of those duties, I sat on the restoration board overseeing the preservation of thirty-seven original Frank Lloyd Wright homes. My military service was in the US Army where I was assigned a civilian status post attached to the White House providing communications, security, and advance work for the President, and Secret Service. These duties included leading advance teams on both the Moscow and Peking summit conferences.
