About Jack Helmly

Mr. Helmly currently serves as President and COO of Bear Bridge, LLC, an economically disadvantaged, woman-owned small business based in Mesick Michigan. Bear Bridge is a certified HUBZone small business concern, focused on technology infrastructure solutions to federal, state and local governments. Mr. Helmly founded Taproot Capital in to provide capital support, management assistance and related services for small and medium-sized technology services companies. The firm is focused on assisting emerging contractors with merger and acquisition support, corporate finance, equity, and leasing services. Mr. Helmly served on the IAC committee for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) to bring commercial best practices to the federal IT arena. In 2002 Mr. Helmly founded GTSI Financial Services, a subsidiary of GTSI Corp. Mr. Helmly developed the concept of Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) to drive the company toward infrastructure services and a sustainable recurring revenue model. Mr. Helmly has over two decades of lease and finance experience, holding positions at GMAC, Comdisco Telecom, AT & T Capital (co-founder of the federal division) and his own firm, Taproot Technology Services. Mr. Helmly held various management consulting positions with Ernst and Young, focused primarily on outsourcing and related management assistance. Mr. Helmly began his career with a very successful 8 year tenure at IBM Corporation. In June, 2007, Mr. Helmly completed The Executive Program at Darden (University of Virginia). TEP is a highly competitive program for top-level executives, focused on business strategy, international finance and business. In addition, Mr. Helmly has attended executive education at Wharton (University of Pennsylvania) MIT Sloan School, and Harvard Business (through IBM Corporation). Mr. Helmly graduated in 1982 with a BS in Computer Science at Virginia Tech. Mr. Helmly currently resides in Middleburg, Virginia.
