About Jack Hoffend

Jack Hoffend is third-generation successor in a family grounded exclusively in the 80-year tradition in manufacturing and installation of specialty theatrical stage equipment, a heritage that originated during the Vaudeville era with his Broadway scenic-artist grandfather Aloysius, and continued with the guidance of his father, Don Sr. Jack studied Mechanical Engineering at Clarkson College of Technology before shifting into the Business Administration BS program at Rochester Institute of Technology, all simultaneous with 10-year apprenticeship as Rigging Installer and subsequent 10-year period as Estimator/Project Manager at Hoffend & Sons, Inc. He then served as Sales Manager at Independent Theatrical Installations, which furnished and installed Orchestra and Stage Lifts. Jack then started and operated Upstage Rigging and Drapery in upstate NY for 10 years, which furnished and installed a wide variety of stage performance rigging equipment. In 2006, he accepted a position as Sales Manager with InterAmerica Stage, and most recently has focused on special applications for heavy rigging systems within military facilities. Rigging technology is in Jack’s blood; his management expertise and installation background as former Journeyman with Ironworkers Local #433 (Las Vegas), and current ETCP-certified Stage Rigger / ETCP-recognized Rigging Instructor make him a valuable member of the InterAmerica team.
