About Jack Howard

Hello! If you've met me already, you probably remember that I'm a student at NC State University studying Physics and Computer Science. I thrive by unravelling the unknown and mastering today's technology in order to more deeply connect with all kinds of mysteries and puzzles. Through working intentionally and efficiently, I live out a constant desire to understand. This shows, both in my undergraduate work, and in my pursuit of hobbies such as rock climbing, disk golf, and reading. Another way I've been able to learn is through my job as a Teaching Assistant for computer science courses. By relating to students and co-workers, I get windows into unique perspectives on classic problems, and understand more about people and how we think. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and helping others solve puzzles because often I'm learning just as much as the person who asked me for help. Central to my life are the communities I'm a part of, particularly including RUF here at NC State, where I've found opportunities to lead and connect with others. Attending and leading Bible studies and discussion groups continue to be highlights of my college experience as I've seen myself and others grow in wisdom, gentleness, and joy. These help keep me oriented and focused in the midst the knowledge tornado that college is, and I'm a stronger physicist and programmer as a result.
