About Jack Howes

I am a Philanthropy Manager for the National Autistic Society. I am on the autistic spectrum myself and committed to making the world a better place for all autistic people and their loved ones.I have dedicated my life to helping autistic people. There are autistic people in the UK currently, with many more undiagnosed. Being autistic dramatically reduces your chances of living a happy, fulfilling life. Rates of bullying, loneliness, employment and mental health issues are far higher for autistic people than the rest of the population. I want to help autistic people live the life they choose and not just live the life that society, through its inaction, negligence and lack of knowledge, chooses for them.I have extensive experience in a variety of fundraising roles across Trusts, Foundations and individual donors. I specialise in prospect research, have formed many new relationships with funders, brought in multiple five-figure donations, helped organise successful events and endeavour to provide the best possible experience for donors whose altruism and generosity transforms people's lives.I have also co-authored a paper looking into the experiences of autistic people at university, written articles about autism for publications including i_D Magazine, Vice, Huffington Post, Special Needs Magazine and done some public speaking. Additionally, I have work experience in data, council tax and health and safety.
