About Jack Hulgan

While I have been currently working in restaurants, climbing gyms, bike shops, and outdoor centers. My true passions involve ecological conservation, sustainability, and inclusivity (with a primary focus of neurodivergence and the neurological benefits the outdoors have on folks). My years of experience owning and leading the outdoors program at my school have allowed me to grow in my love for the outdoors and conservation projects. While I do have experience in lab settings in the form of internships surrounding neurogenetics, I prefer a much more hands-on and direct approach to conservation. Whether its data analytics in R, presentations, or an early Saturday morning spent digging holes in the woods, I am passionate about providing sustainable and inclusive access to our parks and natural areas. My hobbies are climbing, playing music, listening to music, backpacking, whitewater canoeing, and making stained glass. Currently, I am living in Knoxville, but at the end of this academic year I will be moving to Tacoma, Washington with the love of my life, Katie! As of now, the positions that interest me most are remote or field positions in which I can positively benefit the local community around me in any way shape or form. I don't have a subject preference at the moment.
