About Jack Kapcar

I’m a senior at the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, passionate about leveraging data-driven insights to address global challenges. With minors in History and Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences, I specialize in bridging analytical rigor with contextual understanding to drive meaningful policy solutions. My professional experience spans roles in government, journalism, and research. At the Defense Intelligence Agency, I authored award-winning strategic intelligence products, honing my analytical and problem-solving skills. As a Senior Opinion Editor for The Michigan Daily, I developed compelling narratives on key social, economic, and political issues. As a clerk at a local law firm in Ann Arbor, I’ve strengthened my legal research, analysis, and advocacy skills. I'm particularly interested in the intersection of international relations, market intelligence, and public policy, and concentrate in Foreign Market Analysis at the Ford School. I’m skilled in data visualization, statistical analysis, and public speaking, with expertise in tools like Tableau and R. When I’m not diving into research or professional projects, you can find me backpacking, traveling, cooking for my family, and cheering on Chicago sports teams.
