About Jack Karnes

I was involved in trucking from an early age and earned a BS in Logistics & Supply Chain Management from University of North Texas in 2014. I got the job I was "supposed to get" but quickly found out that ALL office\DC was not for me. A friend got me a job at Jacam Catalyst in December 2014, and while I understood I was starting at the bottom, I immediately appreciated the career "depth" possible in Oil & Gas. From 2014 - 2019 I worked for Jacam Catalyst in the Barnett Shale, driving everything in the JC fleet (treater, delivery, tanker, flats) and learning fundamentals as a Field Tech on the EOG - Bowie account. Late 2019 I was offered an Account Management promotion at the Jacam Catalyst - Brownfield yard, thus my family moved to West Texas. January 2021, because of complications associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, I accepted a District Representative position with ChampionX. The experience was good, but when the opportunity to come home to Jacam Catalyst arose in July 2021, I jumped wholeheartedly. I have been back with Jacam Catalyst ever-since, and our team has successfully increased North Permian market share and revenue every year. We are close-knit and work together to achieve success. I have been very fortunate to have spent time with many "old-school" chemical guys who helped me gain a "simplified" understanding of what we do. Be another set of eyes in the field for your customers. Learn to look for the clues that might help prevent costly failures. Pay attention to the fluids. Often costly failures can be avoided by recognizing problems early, via a quick wellhead grind out. Build relationships with EVERYONE. From truck drivers to pumpers to CEO's, it's a team effort and you never know who's help you will need someday. Build relationships with Jacam Catalyst lab personnel. Combine your field work with their lab work to achieve best outcome. Always answer the phone and always be ready to help your customers. Don't nickel-and-dime your customers. Gain revenue via word-of-mouth and the resulting gained market share, NOT via extraneous sales. Treat ALL customers equally well. Small players become large players all the time.
