As a dynamic CEO with more than 30 years of experience in management, business development, marketing, and public speaking, I strive to build professional relationships that achieve successful outcomes and increase economic opportunities for the community. My mission is to find the right people, then empower them to succeed. I pride myself on my collaborative leadership style and ability to listen to different points of view. Through the years, I have developed a reputation for facilitating mutually beneficial outcomes and connecting people to needed resources. A few of my key career accomplishments include- Creating an enhanced Chamber membership program which brought in in new revenue- Founding ABDCDL, a local alliance that meets quarterly to compare and contrast various projects- Developing and implementing Durango’s Look Local First campaign to educate residents on the benefits of working with local businesses-Negotiating with the City, architect, and contractor to build a new Chamber building and bring the project in on time and on budget-Increasing FLC Athletic Department revenue by 118% in six years, more than doubling contributions- Achieving promotion to station manager at KREZ-TV after a few years serving as an account executive and sales manager- Successfully owning two local businesses. Through my time as CEO of the Durango Chamber of Commerce, I have had the opportunity to speak at many events, write for a monthly news column, and host a number of radio/TV shows. Together with my team, we have created and sustained a number of programs that promote the businesses of our community.
