About Jack MacDonald

I am highly creative with a passion for cinema and the media industry. Having recently completed my Master’s Degree in Film & Television, I am now keen to develop a career within this sector. Over the years, I have cultivated an encyclopaedic knowledge of Film and a genuine curiosity about production processes and content creation. During my Bachelor’s Degree, I studied film from a variety of perspectives and learned how to view Hollywood blockbusters, European and world cinema with a critical eye, whilst creating film portfolios and developing a range of production methods and skills. On my Master’s course, I learned film-making skills and gained insight into the craft and industry of screen media. As well as undertaking an internship with Encounters Short Film & Animation Festival, Bristol, I compiled a portfolio for a short horror film and wrote multiple film and music reviews and blogs. I also played ‘The King’s Henchman’ in a production of Tristan and Isolde at the Cheltenham Festival and gained extensive technical skills behind the scenes by setting up lighting and moving props and equipment.
