About Jack McGuire

Currently working as a Principal consultant at LCI consultants. Since joining LCI in Feb 2011 Jack has worked on both educational and Health Care facilities dealing with many stages of a typical project, report writing, schematic design through to construction documentation. Initially, Jack worked on smaller fit-outs at Royal Melbourne Hospital in which he developed an excellent understanding of system design and the typical processes involved with such projects. More notably Jack has been heavily involved in the BIM Mechanical Design at the $2b New Royal Adelaide Hospital (NRAH) Project in South Australia. When NRAH went into contractual documentation, Jack was then given the task of leading a team of engineers in the $66 m redevelopment of Arts West Project, at Melbourne University https://arts-west.arts.unimelb.edu.au/. The brief required LCI to produce a 5-star green star design which would complement the signature building within the historic University of Melbourne campus. The main focus of the design was occupancy satisfaction and energy efficiency. Computational fluid dynamics software (CFD) was utilised by Jack and the team to assist in proving and refining the design. New technology systems and practical testing procedures were adopted for the design and testing of the building, which to date has been a resounding success. Jack has been involved in a diverse range of projects in both the Health and educational sectors and roles have included project management of multidisciplinary services, master planning, concept design, detailed design, and major infrastructure upgrades.
