About Jack McKeown

Items not listed in my work history: I started working around age 5, growing up on a Minnesota farm, up at 5am to take care of the cattle, driving tractors, farm equipment and pickups from age 10 taking care of chickens and pigs, bailing hay, picking rocks from the fields to spare the plow shares. I taught myself how to swim, and joined the Coronado Crown Sharks CNSA swim team after moving back to California. I inherited my brother's paper route in 6th grade, waking up at 4am, seven days per week, to complete route before school. I legally became an emancipated adult at 16 and finished high school back in Minnesota (graduating in the top 17 of my class), while both working and paying rent on a sheep farm. I was active in Speech & Debate, joined the schools Show Choir, and was in both the Journalism Club and the Photography Club (where we chemically developed our 35mm rolls in a dark room), as well as performing in the yearly school musical and also performed in a One-Act Play. After graduating, I worked as a short-order cook in Minneapolis before joining the Army. Between the Army and Coast Guard, I worked as a carpenter, full-service gas station attendant, managed a food-and-fuel gas station, was a door-to-door salesman, an Account Manager and repo guy at a rent-to-own furniture store, and finally, a roofer at a new housing construction development.
