As a recent graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations and Communications from Ulster University Belfast, I bring a unique blend of skills and knowledge to the table. My academic journey has been enriched by a comprehensive curriculum that includes public relations theory, strategic communications, marketing, advertising, and research methods. This has equipped me with a solid foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of communication. Prior to this, I earned an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Queen's University Belfast. My studies covered a diverse range of subjects including microbiology, cell biology, immunology, genetics, animal biology, parasitology, and environmental studies. My dissertation focused on health and nutrition, specifically exploring the benefits of plant-based diets. This background has provided me with a deep understanding of biological processes and research methodologies. In addition to my academic achievements, I have gained valuable work experience as a Sales Consultant at NEXT for three years. This role has honed my customer service, sales, and communication skills, and has taught me the importance of teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment. I am now eager to leverage my postgraduate skills to pursue opportunities in the field of biology. Specifically, I am keen in seeking roles that utilize the skills and understandings developed during my undergraduate biology studies. I am also interested in applying my marketing and communication expertise to roles within biological firms, particularly in their marketing or advertising teams. On a personal level, I am known for being open and friendly. My strong Christian values guide me to be a positive team member and have inspired me to engage in significant volunteer work with children and young people. Leading teams and participating in mission work abroad has allowed me to develop key leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. These experiences have also instilled in me a confidence in my ability to meet new people and form meaningful connections. Additionally, my love of sports has taught me valuable lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and patience—qualities that are essential in both personal and professional settings.
