About Jack Murray

Environmental and Social (E&S) Consultant with over 3 years experience in applying international lender standards (IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles 4, WBG EHS Guidelines and ADB Safeguards) to large scale infrastructure projects around the world. During my time as a consultant I have been involved in the production of multiple Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports and Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) reports and am capable of covering both environmental and social topic areas. Furthermore, I have completed alternative E&S consulting tasks for clients, including the development of a bespoke Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) for an industrial zone in Benin, supporting the management of a Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) for a major road project in Ghana, and supporting the production of guidance notes on behalf of the Equator Principles Association (EPA). I work across a variety of sectors including transport, energy, mining, petrochemicals and oil and gas, as well as a variety of geographies including Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and South America. I have provided E&S consultancy services for several types of clients including developers, commercial banks, multilaterals, and export credit agencies (ECAs). Prior to this I studied Sustainability and Environmental Management at the University of Leeds, where I graduate with honours. During my time at Leeds I was the School of Earth and Environment Employability Ambassador, an IntoUniversity volunteer and captain of the 2nd XI men’s hockey team. Currently I am developing my skill set within ESIA, ESDD and project management at Ramboll with a focus on Physical Climate Change Risk Assessments, and more broadly environmental management including pollution prevention and resource efficiency. Finally I am working as part of a team of consultants exploring the potential use of digital tools in pre-financial close ESDD and post-financial close monitoring.
