About Jack Tait
Final-year PhD candidate in Single-Molecule Biophysics with Prof. Sander J. Tans at AMOLF, Amsterdam. I am currently studying the dynamics of polysome formation and translation for co-translational 'co-co' assembly of proteins using optical tweezers. MChem Chemistry (First Class) graduate from The University of Edinburgh, where I earned the 2022 Masters Project Prize, an Edinburgh Award (Work Experience), a Carnegie Trust Vacation Scholarship, and an EnQuest Sullom Voe 10th Anniversary Educational Scholarship. Alongside Chemistry, my degree uniquely featureed qualifications in Informatics 1 and 2, giving me a basis in computer science and software design not commonly achieved by other Chemistry or Natural Science students. I also play saxophone and clarinet with HEA Productions and Cauldron Performing Arts here in Amsterdam - come to see one of our shows!
