About Jack Waddell

I hold a Master’s degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. In 2019, I joined the Shell Graduate Electrical Engineering Program, where I spent the first two years providing frontline electrical maintenance and operations support to UK onshore gas facilities. My focus was on achieving asset-specific HSE, integrity, cost, and availability performance.In my third year, I transitioned to the Projects and Engineering organisation, offering technical support for various upstream projects at different stages of their design lifecycle. Notable projects included Acorn Carbon Capture Storage, Penguins Field Redevelopment, and Brent Decommissioning.I spent three years part of Shell’s Renewable Generation business, where I developed the onshore power pipeline from early stages through to construction. I managed all aspects of the grid connection, including applications, design, optimisation, planning, interfaces, and construction. I sat on the deal time, providing technical expertise to commercial negotiations, acquisitions and divestments.I am now the Grid Connection Project Manager at Statera Energy, building a 680MW BESS 400kV connection in Manchester.
