About Jack Westerby

I graduated from the University of Salford with a 2:1 classification in BSc (Hons) Building Surveying (Accelerated). The degree programme was accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Following my graduation, I successfully secured a position as a CAD Technician within the Asset Management Team at Michael Dyson Associates Limited (MDA). During my seven month contract, during which I fulfilled all responsibilities associated with the position, MDA wanted to continue my employment with them and kept me on as a Graduate Building Surveyor in the Contract Administration and Design Team. Since commencing my employment at MDA, I have progressed from a Graduate Surveyor to my current role as a Project Manager. MDA is a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy providing a wide range of professional services to the housing sector. My current responsibilities encompass a variety of duties, including acting as Employer's Agent, Procurement, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Clerk of Works, Contract Administration and Building Surveying duties. Additional responsibilities include financial reporting to clients, budget management across multiple projects, conducting site visits to monitor progress and ensure the quality of contractors’ work, attending and chairing site meetings, and overseeing compliance with the CDM Regulations. I am gaining valuable experience in managing both new build and refurbishment projects for a diverse portfolio of clients across the UK. These projects vary in complexity and scope, with budgets ranging from to Through MDA’s comprehensive training and career development programme, I am actively working towards attaining RICS Chartership status as a Building Surveyor.
