About Jackie Arnold

I am a current PhD candidate at the University of Delaware. It is in the Korley Research Group that I study lignin-derivable polymeric materials, namely for the purposes of developing polyurethanes with biobased feedstocks more environmentally and human health friendly than conventional, petroleum-based means of production. This work has earned me the 2023 Collins Fellowship as well as the Richard Wool Award for Women in Green Engineering Before attending UD, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Chemical Engineering with a Certificate in Biomedical Engineering at West Virginia University. It was here that I was named a Beckman Scholar in accordance with my research on enzyme immobilization within hyaluronic acid-amine hydrogels for biosensor applications. I am a dedicated student who has had much practice and success in leadership roles as well as working alongside my peers in a team setting. I am a fast learner and have a benevolent personality that drives me to make a positive difference, and I look forward to using my present and future skills to do just that in the workplace.
