Through my career as a professional communicator I have welcomed opportunities to support internal and external clients in a variety of roles - as a progressively senior agency-based team member (for 20+ years), as an independent consultant, and, for 10+ years, as an 'in-house' communications manager and director, leading corporate and public affairs. Over that time I have specialized in providing senior counsel and strategic communication planning - as well as leading a vast range of initiatives - in sectors including agricultural exporting, Canadian law and financial services, co-operative retail, telecommunications, biotechnology, transit/transportation, natural resource extraction, professional sports and municipal government/governance, to name just a few. I have developed effective communication strategies designed to increase the visibility of dozens of corporate clients and helped protect and enhance organizational reputations. In addition to tackling the day-to-day challenges of leading a high-functioning team, I am a passionate executive media and presentation trainer, and have developed countless customized sessions, preparing spokespeople to communicate effectively with both internal and external audiences.
