About Jackie Brady

Town Manager since 1995; she is also Town Liaison to Searchlight, NV (17 yrs.). Her office: an outreach of the County Manager’s Office, overseeing and coordinating a myriad of municipal services and facilities with other County depts, non-profit organizations and state and federal agencies. Not limited to care taking but also innovation—to make Laughlin an even better place to live, visit and work. Projects include: early economic development planning; planning with Bullhead City, AZ and other agencies for a second Colorado River bridge and supporting highway improvements from Laughlin to I-40 in California; partnership with the U.S. Dept. of Interior to conceive, fund and develop the 12-mile Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park & Trails named twice named as a “Great American Outdoors” project—one of only 100 in the nation. Born in Palestine, Texas, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree (in Political Science and History) from East Tennessee State University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin, LBJ School of Public Affairs. Named as a “State Fellow” by the Texas Governor, she interned and then was employed in his office in planning coordination with the regional councils of government and cities of the state. Later, appointed by the Tucson's City Manager in intergovernmental affairs in his office and helped establish the first HMO for southern Arizona. Other positions: consultant, teacher of classes on U.S. and Nevada constitutions at UNLV; sales manager of a LV minority-owned tour bus company and analyst in a local economic development council office. Earlier hired in the County Manager’s Office as an analyst and later assistant director of the County Election Department. Memberships: Laughlin Chamber of Commerce board of directors (17 yrs.); formerly Rotary International, Kiwanis International, United Way allocations in Tucson and Laughlin, American Society for Public Administration & National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
