About Jackie Breitenstein

Jackie has over 20 years of experience in therapeutic recreation, case management and program development. As Program Manager at Shepherd Center, a leading rehabilitation hospital for people with spinal cord and brain injuries, she oversees the SHARE Military Initiative and Complex Concussion Clinic. SHARE Military Initiative offers specialized rehabilitation and community reintegration services for veterans and service members with mild to moderate brain injuries. The Complex Concussion Clinic provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients with persistent post-concussion symptoms. She received her Master's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is a Certified Clinical Case Manager and a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. She is passionate about improving the quality of life and outcomes for people with neurological impairments and has developed and implemented innovative and evidence-based interventions and protocols to achieve this goal. She has also collaborated with various stakeholders and partners, such as the Veterans Healthcare Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration, the Marcus Foundation, and the Brain Injury Association of Georgia, to advocate for the needs and rights of this population. Jackie is committed to advancing the field of rehabilitation and supporting the mission and vision of Shepherd Center. She brings a diverse perspective and experience to the team, as well as a strong work ethic, a collaborative spirit, and a compassionate attitude.
