About Jackie Spicknell

My name is Jacqueline Spicknell, and I am a Production Designer and Scenic painter in the Film/TV and Music industry. I have worked in the film industry for (coming up to) 4 years and before this I worked in the Theatre Industry for 4 years. I graduated from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), gaining a BA Hons in Theatre and Performance Design. During my studies, I had been lucky enough to work on a number of public productions, in roles ranging from dresser, costume assistant, wardrobe mistress, head costume designer, scenic painter, set assistant and head set designer. I had also been involved in many model box projects, designing and making my own 1:25 sets and designing my own costumes. Along with this, I had also been involved in a number of technical roles ranging from rigger, asm, stage manager and LX operator, and even took up stage technology to learn about special effects on the stage. I pride myself on being a designer who has technical recognition. I see both disciplines going hand in hand, and I aim to help both departments in conjunction with my wide range of knowledge. I've learnt alot working in the theatre, and have now been working consistantly in the film industry. I have been lucky enough to work on a number of films, both short and feature, ranging in roles from art department assistant, scenic painter, to set dresser, art director and production designer.
