About Jackline Waithaka

As a Communications and Documentations Officer having worked with Shack Dwellers International Kenya (SDI Kenya), I have spent the past 5 years working to amplify the voices of marginalized communities and secure their rights to dignified living. In my role, I have honed my skills in social media management, graphics, grants/proposal writing, presentation, videography, communication, and web content writing. My passion for storytelling has also led me to write and publish blogs articles and reports on a wide range of development topics. A recent blog I have put together focused on the topic of food security and nutrition. In addition to my work at SDI Kenya, I am a skilled TV and Radio presenter and producer, having worked at Royal Media Services (RMS), Covenant Television Network-CTN and Shine Fm, Daystar University.I have covered a variety of topics and using my skills in news gathering, reporting, audio editing, and social media. I hold a Master's degree in Communication Development from Daystar University, as well as a double major degree in Public Relations and Electronic Media from the same institution. I also hold a diploma in Journalism and Electronic Media from Multimedia University of Kenya. Furthermore, I am a member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya and hold a certification in Public Relations. I am equally skilled in Srategic Media Relations, Media Engagement, event planning and execution, Press Releases, and Social Media Management.My diverse experience and skills enable me to effectively communicate and engage with a variety of audiences. I am a creative problem-solver who is passionate about using my skills to drive social change and make a positive impact on the world.
