About Jackson Pavitt

I am currently a Rising Senior at the Cal Poly Orfalea College of Business, pursuing a career in Finance, with the goal of specializing in Equities at a Hedge Fund or Investment Bank.While dedicating 14 years of my life to relentlessly pursuing excellence as a student-athlete, which included a 3-year tenure as a Quarterback on Cal Poly's Division 1 Football Program, I discovered the invaluable rewards that stem from embracing both hard work and sacrifice. During my time as a collegiate athlete I endured numerous surgeries, ultimately leading to my medical retirement from Football. From being in the best physical shape of my life to barely being able to walk, and repeatedly having the progress I had built over the years ripped away, I learned the true meaning of resilience. Yet I did not leave the game I love empty-handed, and recognize that through this time I honed invaluable skills in leadership, time management, teamwork, and commitment.Following my retirement from athletics, I played a vital role in two different student-run companies, acting as a CEO in one and as CFO in the other. Through these ventures I learned the nuances of running a small business, and what it means to be an entrepreneur. I was able to develop skills in finance, specifically in both risk and cash flow management, as well as budgeting and accounting.As of today I have transitioned to a new stage in my life, pursuing a career in Finance. I am confident that my unique skill set and background will make me a valuable asset to any organization seeking a driven and adaptable team member. With a strong foundation in finance and a passion for investment strategies, I am eager to explore opportunities for growth and am dedicated to building a successful career in this industry.
