About Jackson Roberts

I am currently a senior in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. I am majoring in Finance and minoring in Sports Leadership and Management. During my time at Miami University I have taken 400 level finance courses and have completed the business core which was a combination of four challenging yet useful courses that refined my skills in the business world. More specifically I gained a greater understanding of Microsoft technologies, SQL, and Python. I was also able to gain experience giving presentations and working in group settings. Finally, this core of classes helped me tap into my creative side as well as working on my problem solving skills in both an individual and group format. On top of in school experiences I have previous internship experience at Crawford Hoying Real Estate Development Company working under the CFO, COO, in house attorney and the marketing team. During my time working under the CFO I was able to sit in on financial planning meetings, read over documents, and work with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word to help dissect company budget, payroll, and project costs. While shadowing the COO I was able to refine my collaboration skills by overseeing team project meetings as well as meetings with other companies. Under the in house attorney I learned how to break down contracts and conduct professional negotiations with outside parties. Finally, under the marketing team I was able to oversee project maintenance, manage job sites, and supervise construction. I think these experiences have given me a great jumpstart into the world of finance and I am looking to build upon this by gaining more internship experience in the business world yet more specifically in the finance department. I am open to internship opportunities anywhere around the midwest and Ohio specifically.
