PhD Candidate at RIVM, working on the intersection of food, climate, and health. As part of the EU's Horizon Farm to Fork FOODCoST project, my research aims to support the transition towards a sustainable food system by proposing a harmonised methodology for the valuation and internalisation of externalities along the food value chain based on economic cost principles. My interests/topics include a systematic review of demand-side policies that address or facilitate the internalization of externalities in the food system in the EU, evaluating the effects of sugar and carbon taxes on food consumption, emissions and health in the Netherlands, and applying new methodologies to estimate the true price of fish, accounting for environmental, social and health externalities.
