About Jaclyn Lafferty

As a seasoned executive I began my career as an Executive Director, with the Frontier Community Coalition. As the chief executive officer of the organization, I found it extremely important to hold agencies and employees accountable for delivering their respective products and services. All of which, had to be in accordance with federal, state, and local policies and objectives. After three years of being with the Coalition, I helped establish the Frontier Community Action Agency in 2008. While working at the Action Agency, I oversaw a broad range of Department of Health and Human Service (DHHS) policies and initiatives. In addition, I was also charged with the collaboration of federal, state, and local sub-grantees and partners. This was all done over the expanse of Northeastern Nevada, in a very rural setting, and in an environment that was highly resistant to change. As the Executive Director, of the Frontier Community Action Agency, I was committed to providing outstanding services to our clients, sub-grantees, and partners. I was fully accountable to the agency’s Board of Directors and various funding source managers, and our organization complied with all Office of Management and Budget (OMB) mandates and guidelines. To accomplish the strategic planning and this enormous task, I partnered with key members of federal, state, and local businesses. One of which was the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS), Free File Program, in 2009. This allowed the newly formed social services agency, to build community support and promote financial stability. I have a strong business insight, and am equally comfortable and confident managing the financial, human capital, and technological aspects of my work. I have served in a broad range of leadership positions, and my appreciation for the public I ultimately serve has continued to grow. To be as effective as possible in my roles, and to better serve that public, I have taken a number of professional training courses that have enhanced my corporate and business instincts. I have always been known to actively involve and engage Office Directors, Administrative Officers, Sub-Grantees, partners, staff, clients, and the public. In the strategic planning and development of the agency, by identifying funding sources, complying with funding requirements, and overall budget formulation process.
