About Jaclyn Ruta

Hi there! My name is Jaclyn Ruta. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Toronto. My area of interest has long been womens and community health. I participated in undergraduate research under the supervision of Dr Sarah Woodruff in the CHEW lab which allowed me to explore topics related to community health such as vaccine confidence. I also acted as the Vice President of International Development for the University of Windsor's SOS chapter and a Global Ambassador for SOS Canada. In this role I used knowledge from my studies to host science-topic workshops with students from Guatemala. I was able to collect information during this experience to further develop this program to increase its accessibility, reach, and better tailor the content to the aspirations of the Guatemalan students. I now am using my education from the Lawrence S. Bloomberg School of Nursing to continue working with women, promoting health, and supporting my community.
