About Jaclyn S.

I am engaged in research, higher education teaching, and professional service. As a researcher, I seek to understand how to help people with disabilities have better medication adherence so that they can live healthy and productive lives. Through this research, I have developed expertise in rehabilitation, occupational therapy, stroke, and assistive technology. I design and implement research studies, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and disseminate findings in peer-reviewed publications as well as continuing education for professionals.As an educator, I use a variety of evidenced-based and active-learning approaches to help my students become client-centered evidenced-based occupational therapy practitioners. I also engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning research in order to improve my practices over time.Finally, I engage in service with my professional organizations. I lead geographically diverse committees to advance the fields of occupational therapy and rehabilitation.
