About Jaco Jonker

I graduated matric in 2005 and moved to Potchefstroom, where I finished my B.Hons degree in Advanced Macro-economics and Financial risk management in 2009, and became part of the Golden Key International Honnors Society during this time. In 2015 I accrued my M.Tech in Architecture at the University of Johannesburg, graduating Cum Laude. During my study years I worked at numerous practices part-time, and started working at the Paragon Group in 2016, where I am currently still working. I am also a registered SACAP professional architect. I have worked with numerous artists and local makers, in realizing projects of both and artistic and technical nature. I love working in the in-between space where creativity and digital fabrication interact, and that people are the most important part of any project. I love working in teams, as I have found that no single project can be realized in isolation, no matter how skilled any individual is. In the past 4 years, I have learned to specialize in various BIM software tools (Navisworks) in building projects in order to increase efficiency and accuracy-as well as collaboration throughout a project’s life-cycle. I have accrued a wealth of knowledge and skills in the architectural field at the corporate practices I have worked at. I would love to broaden my knowledge and skill base at alternative forms of architectural practice.
