About Jacob Abrami

A transitioning Foreign Area Officer, I advised senior leaders and managers across the interagency on the capabilities, plans and operations of the U.S. military and its partners in Africa. I built relations with foreign militaries, and proposed, planned and managed security cooperation programs. Day to day work involved supporting diplomacy as a member of an interagency team, leading the coordination and management of Defense, Diplomatic, and Development engagements and programs. As an aviator and member of a crew, I flew the C-12 (BE20) in support of more than a dozen embassies in Southern Africa. I advised customers/users, planned flight operations, and assisted fellow FAOs with accomplishing their missions in remote/hard to get to locations. Special program interests and experiences included Science and Technology development and cooperation in Southern Africa, and Climate Action initiatives with data collection, distribution and shared use in support of Scientifically Informed Decision Making. Background: Army Aviation Officer with experience in Small Unit Leadership, Command, International/Joint Staff, International Security advisement, Program Management and Military Diplomacy. Additional expertise and experience with business development and sales, joint and combined exercise execution, conferencing, support to high-level delegations, training, exercise planning, risk advisory, public diplomacy, and marketing.
