About Jacob Andersen

I’ve been exposed to various responsibilities and have had the opportunity to work in different countries during my 20+ years at DFDS. This has given me in-depth know-how about business cultures and how to overcome a variety of challenges. Why have I stayed so long? My colleagues at DFDS are fantastic and I thrive with the combination of office work and time in the maritime environment and on vessels. My core competencies include business/route management and development. In my current role in the Netherlands, I oversee the North Sea South routes linking the UK with Rotterdam and Amsterdam. I’m particularly proud of my contribution to the transformation of our organisation over the years, the business growth achieved in spite of COVID-19, and the successful navigation of challenges associated with Brexit. At DFDS, our customers’ needs are in constant focus. Our core transport solution does not create the same value for all our customers, so we customise our solutions by adding linked services. This creates higher customer satisfaction, as well as a sustainable competitive advantage for DFDS. A firm believer that people are at the core of our business, I’m passionate about the continuous development of our existing leadership. I do my best to maintain the motivation and well-being of my staff at all levels of the organisation. My secret for success is delegation. I have a soft spot for helping young talents grow, which is fundamental for business growth and the future of our organisation.
