About Jacob Armstrong

As a Mental Health Practitioner with over 10 years of working within mental health and 5 years experience of being a registered mental health nurse, and I am passionate about providing high-quality care and support to individuals with mental health needs. I have worked in various settings within the NHS from wards to community, adults to young people, and have working experience with the private healthcare sector and higher education. I have developed strong skills in conducting accurate, timely and informed mental health assessments, risk assessments and gold-standard interventions. I have held training for healthcare staff around the formulation of risk in clients and have supported the integration of new and safe risk assessment systems into large organisations. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Nursing from The University of Salford and a BSc (Hons) Criminology and Psychology from Sheffield Hallam University. I am certified by The Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Mental Health Nurse and also hold a certificate in counselling skills. I have also published a research paper as first author around the use and effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions to reduce stress and burnout in healthcare staff. I currently work as a Psychedelic and Clinical Rating Specialist at MAC research where the work of the whole team and organisation is making profound differences to the field of psychiatry.
